Katharine Ponza is originally from Sydney, Australia. She has worked as a Performer, Instructor
and Choreographer in Australia, the US and Canada. Her credits include Sydney 2000 Olympics, Disney’s World on Ice (Sydney), Tap Soloist with the Brad Child Jazz Orchestra (Sydney). For four years, she was featured as one of the iconic Showgirls in “Jubilee!” at Bally’s, Las Vegas, and also performed at the Las Vegas Hilton, Paris Theatre, and Caesar’s Palace (Las Vegas). She was a Guest Faculty member at Harbour Dance Centre in Vancouver, BC, and a Guest Choreographer for ITP. Katharine has performed in numerous Shows, Concerts, Festivals and Events at venues including, (in her native Australia), Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Centre, Australian Parliament House, (in NYC), Birdland Jazz Club, Symphony Space, The Joyce Theatre, Duke Theatre, 92Y, and Iguana. Katharine has taught at Juilliard, NYU (Steinhardt), and LIU Brooklyn. She has performed at Big Apple Tap Festival, Tap City – New York City Tap Festival, Tradition in Tap and Stamp-ede, to name a few, and she has performed as part of the Zeigfeld Society in NYC. She has taught Master Classes throughout the U.S. and Canada and serves as an Adjudicator at Dance Competitions across the country. Katharine is on Faculty at Broadway Dance Center NYC, STEPS on Broadway and Shuffles Broadway Tap & Musical Theatre School NYC. She performs with Germaine Salsberg’s company “Les Femmes” and the “Honey Taps”.
